This free discovery call is a chance for us to gently get to know each other - for you to ask questions, share your hopes or worries, and see whether I’m the right independent midwife for you and your family. There’s no pressure and no obligation, just an open, honest conversation to help you decide what feels right.

What happens during a private midwife discovery call?
We'll chat about your pregnancy, your hopes for your birth, any questions or concerns you have, and what you're looking for from your maternity care. I'll also explain how I work, what's included in my packages, and answer anything you'd like to know.
How do I prepare for my discovery call with an independent midwife?
There's no preparation needed at all. Just find somewhere comfortable and bring along any questions you have. If you've already had scans or appointments, you're welcome to mention them, but nothing is expected.
Do I need to know what type of maternity care or birth I want before booking?
Not at all. Many families book a discovery call because they're still exploring their options. Whether you're considering a home birth, hospital birth, or simply want to understand the different ways an independent midwife can support you, we can talk it through together without any pressure.
Is there any obligation to book private midwifery care after the discovery call?
Absolutely not. This call is simply a chance for us to get to know each other and see whether I'm the right fit for your pregnancy and birth. If you decide to go ahead, wonderful. If not, that's completely okay too.
Can my birth partner join the private midwife discovery call?
Yes! In fact, I encourage it if they're available. Pregnancy and birth are a team effort, and it's lovely for partners to ask questions and hear about the support I can offer too.
What happens after my private midwife discovery call?
If you decide you'd like to work together, I'll send over everything you need to get started, including your contract, invoice and information about booking your first appointment. If you'd like a little time to think, that's absolutely fine too—there's no pressure.
When should I book a discovery call with an independent midwife?
The earlier, the better, as I only take a small number of clients each month to provide truly personalised care and continuity of care throughout pregnancy, birth and beyond. That said, if you're further along in your pregnancy, please still get in touch—I may still have availability or be able to support you in other ways.
